Sunday 31/05/20 Pentecost

Today is sometimes called The Church’s birthday. Please join with me and each other at 10.00 to read the Bible, sing a hymn and pray. Afterwards why not have a cup of tea/coffee (and maybe a biscuit) and think about how being part of the Church community has impacted on you and your life.

I’ll be using the following short service:

Psalm      104

Hymn    Lord, the light of your love is shining

Reading     Acts 2: 1-21

Prayers including the collect and a prayer for nation during this Coronavirus pandemic:

Holy Spirit, sent by the Father ignite in us your holy fire; strengthen your children with the gift of faith, revive your Church with the breath of love, and renew the face of the earth through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

Loving God, as your Son healed the sick and brought good news to the needy be with us this day. Loving Jesus as you taught us to ‘do unto others as you would have them do to you’ be with all the medical staff this day. Loving spirit, your gift is healing, bring your healing fire to our homes, our hospitals and our county, but most of all, be with us this day. Amen
